What is a Video Agency?

A video agency is a hybrid between a video production company and an advertising agency. Traditionally, if a company needs to create a video, they contract an ad agency to come up with creative concepts, the agency then hires a production company to produce the concept as well as a post production company to edit and deliver the final product. That still exists, but the world is different now and Good Brother is filling that void. Now, there are multiple options for brands to create content. You can ideate in-house, converse with an ad agency, or work with a blend of the two by talking to a video agency. Video agencies are popular because they allow for a very efficient line of communication and supply chain during the entire production process.

For those unaware of what a typical production process looks like, here is a brief overview of ours:

1. RFP & Proposal

2. Creative Development & Copywriting

3. Pre-Production

4. Production

5. Post-Production

6. Final Delivery

Most production companies cover steps 3-6. However, video agencies wear a lot of hats and can work with you from the proposal and creative development all the way to post.

If you have absolutely no idea where to start, then hiring an ad agency is probably a smart move because they have a lot of time and resources they can dedicate to helping you craft your perfect storyline. If you have some idea of what you want to accomplish or think you want to take a stab at writing your own script, then talking it over with a video agency is the great option for you. If you are still unsure where to start, then do some research. Really good video agencies will have a large, diverse portfolio with lots of happy clients.
